Postgraduate Computing Science at the University of Glasgow

Computing Science began at the University of Glasgow in 1957, when the first Computing Laboratory was established in Scotland.

The Department of Computing Science is now a large, lively, and friendly community of staff and students. We have about 32 academic staff, 36 research staff, and 30 support staff. The student population comprises about 78 research postgraduates, 65 taught postgraduates, and 400 undergraduates. The Department of Computing Science’s mission is to be excellent in both research and teaching.

Research and teaching of the highest standard are found here, making it a very stimulating and challenging place to study.

We have a wealth of experience, but our focus is always on the future. We look for the best graduates from the UK, EU, and overseas to join us at the forefront of our subject. We offer postgraduate programmes of outstanding quality, and our degrees enjoy world-wide prestige. While here, our postgraduate students benefit from the best possible support and supervision. On graduating, they are well qualified to join previous graduates who have found key posts in industry and academia
